fibreEssence and the VGFA present
Cherry Blossoms: A Textile Translation
March 26 - April 4, 2019
Call for entry
FibreEssence and the Vancouver Guild of Fibre Arts are pleased to co-sponsor the eleventh exhibition based on a cherry blossom theme.
This has become an annual spring celebration in conjunction with the City of Vancouver’s Cherry Blossom Festival.
The exhibition will once again be held at the beautiful Silk Purse Gallery in West Vancouver. Works selected will be in size from miniature to no more that 48” in width. Follow the cherry blossom theme using anything from real petals to the suggestion of pink in an abstract design. Functional objects as well as wall pieces and sculpture in any textile medium/technique are welcome….original work only.
Submission Deadline: February 23, 2019
Please submit digital images by CD or email.
Maximum image size: 1024 x 768.
Image resolution: 150 ppi or up to 300 ppi.
File format: JPEG.
Identify the CD with your name. Label each image: last name, underscore, initial, underscore, title, underscore, full view/detail.
Mail or email a completed entry form for each piece. Mail one $20 entry fee cheque per person payable to fibreEssence.
Mail to: Bonnie Adie, 4371 Starlight Way, North Vancouver BC V7N 3N8
You may submit up to 3 items, with at least two photos of each item, one being a full view (must be able to see edges) and one with detail. It is possible that only 1 item will be chosen per person, depending on the number of entries.
It is a known practice for juries to automatically disqualify entries that have not been completed and are not accompanied with the required good photographs of the finished work plus one of the detail. This practice will be adhered in this jury process.
Please note: If, upon arrival, the actual item varies greatly from the image or doesn’t meet our technical standards, it may be refused. Items must be ready to hang.
As this is a juried show, a 3 member jury will make the selection of exhibit pieces.
